Notice of arrival of the first Suwa Sozan masu sake cup
The first Suwa Sozan (1851-1922) was a potter active from the Meiji to Showa eras.
He is known as an innovator who combined the traditions of Kyoto ware with Western sensibilities.
In particular, the elegant shapes and transparent textures of his white porcelain and celadon wares
continue to fascinate many people as works filled with "tranquil beauty."
