大平さんが形づくった葉皿の素朴で力強いながらも繊細な土の表情に、谷井さんの銀彩が重なることで、一枚の葉に陰影が生まれました。

Shingo Ohira × Naoto Tanii — Silver-Glazed Leaf Plates
We are pleased to introduce a special series of Shigaraki leaf-shaped plates made by Shingo Ohira and finished with silver glaze by Naoto Tanii.
The rustic yet powerful, delicate texture of Ohira’s clay work is layered with Tanii’s silver finish, creating a sense of depth and shadow across the surface of each leaf.
The warmth of the clay meets the quiet glow of silver.
The contrasting materials and the sensibilities of these two artists come together in a single piece, revealing different expressions depending on the angle and the way the light falls upon it.
The plates can of course be used as tableware, but they can also be displayed as objects in their own right.
These one-of-a-kind leaf plates are the result of the work of two artists coming together in an unexpected and beautiful way.
